A customer in Alexandria, Virginia contacted us about a rat infestation in the storage area of their home. Another company had been working on the issue for three weeks, yet the infestation had remained serious.

Solution and Suggestion

Droppings and activity marks strongly suggested a sewer rat infestation. Rats had pulled down packaging, using these materials for nesting. Simply continuing with the laying of bait is not a solution in such situations. We recommended the customer raise the concrete layer preventing rats from digging new holes through the soft foundation and further invading the home.

We provided the customer with an integrated treatment plan including baiting and reconstruction. After several weeks baiting, a contractor would need to be hired to seal the openings and level up the bottom with solid concrete. Executed together as an integrated plan the customer’s worries should be over.
